Dr. Kortes is Board Certified by the American Board of Physical Medicine. After attending medical school on a full-tuition merit scholarship at Medical College of Wisconsin, he completed residency in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at The Ohio State University receiving the Ernest J. Johnson Academic Achievement Award. After completing a fellowship in Neuromodulation, he stayed on as an Assistant Professor of Clinical Medicine at OSU. Subsequently, he worked for four years as Associate Chief of Staff/Education and in clinical practice at the VA (Tomah VAMC, Wisconsin), holding the academic rank of Volunteer Assistant Professor at Medical College of Wisconsin. He has attending physician experience in both inpatient and outpatient physical medicine and rehabilitation.
